about

1st play by Tom Ravenscroft (BBC6 Music) Friday 12 July

Gaijin Blues follow up their eponymous debut EP with “Professor Tatsuro Kensu”, a taster single from their forthcoming debut LP.

Their music and live performances have caught the eyes and ears of their electronic heroes Romare and Anchorsong. They opened for Anchorsong last Autumn and will be supporting Romare at London’s Jazz Cafe on Friday July the 19th.

The name of the track gives us a small insight into the LP, it’s the name of one of the characters in an imaginary 16 bit JRPG video game. The LP is set to be the soundtrack to the whole game. Think Zelda soundtracks with MPC’s, live percussion and flutes. It’s a small taste of things to come.

"ripe for the dance floor, and a polished progression from the debut EP" Tina Edwards (Worldwide FM/Supreme Standards)

The debut LP “Gaijin Blues II” will be out this Autumn, with further UK live dates in the pipeline.
